New life in Christ
Baptism

The gateway to life in the Spirit and the door to all other sacraments. Through water and the Holy Spirit, we die to sin and rise to new life in Christ. Baptisms are celebrated on the second and fourth weekends of the month. Parents and godparents attend a brief preparation session beforehand.

Bread of life
First Communion

After two years of preparation alongside their families, children receive the Body and Blood of Christ for the first time. They have learned what the Eucharist is, who Christ is, and why He gives Himself to us. That first “Amen” at the altar stays with them for life.

Sealed in the Spirit
Confirmation

The sacrament that completes Baptism and strengthens the baptized with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We prepare young people and adults to be sent out as witnesses of Christ in the world. Preparation begins in the fall and culminates at the bishop's visit.

Mercy, always available
Reconciliation

No appointment needed, no questions asked. Confessions are heard every Saturday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist. You can also request a time with Father any day. God's mercy never runs out, and neither does our welcome.

A covenant for life
Holy Matrimony

Marriage is a covenant and a vocation, lived in the daily gift of self. Couples begin a six-step preparation process with Father at least six months before the wedding date. Start the conversation early; we'll walk with you through every step.

Strength in suffering
Anointing of the Sick

For those facing serious illness, surgery, or the frailty of age. This sacrament brings the comfort and strength of Christ to those who suffer. Available any time, day or night in emergencies. No one should face illness alone.

Called to serve
Holy Orders

The sacrament through which men are ordained as deacons, priests, or bishops to serve the Church. If you feel God may be calling you, speak with Father Higuera. The Diocese of Yakima accompanies men throughout discernment.
